Description
Oslo Wood is a timeless tripod floor lamp introduced in 2006. The lamp is well suited for providing multidirectional light both upward and outward, with a soft, warm glow filtering through its hand-assembled, chain-linked fabric shade. It also creates a striking light silhouette toward the ceiling, illuminating any space.
Designer Ove Rogne recalls how the lighting effect through the shade reminds him of urban light, or sunlight, filtering through the woods and trees surrounding the city centre of Oslo, hence the name. As the light is softened by the shade, it resembles the warm glow of city lights on a dark winter night or the morning sun diffused through tree branches. Over the years, Oslo Wood has become one of Northern’s enduring designs, finding its place in homes, cabins, hotels and other spaces across Norway and beyond.
